| LPD MUSIC’S NEW PRESIDENT LPD Music International, a leading distributor in the music industry, has announced that Sonia Vallis, the company’s former general manager, will assume the role of President and CEO. Sonia will replace her father and company founder, Harry Bernstein, who passed away on April 14th of this year at the age of 72, only 6 weeks after being diagnosed with Cancer. While Sonia has been with LPD Music for 12 years, she has actually been preparing for this position for most of her life. “I’ve lived and breathed LPD (known by many as La Playa) and this industry since I was a child; LPD was like a sibling to me. My father was very devoted to his business and spent most of his waking hours developing it. I seemed to have always been involved somehow with LPD. As a child I stuffed invoices & put mailing labels on flyers, and as a teen I contacted dealers and occasionally pulled orders in the warehouse”, says Sonia Vallis. |

| Sonia will run LPD music along with her husband and company Vice President Tom Vallis, whom she met when she joined LPD in 1995. Tom (a former, music retail sales manager, guitar instructor and semi professional musician) embarked on a life long career path when he joined LPD in 1986 as a sales representative, and ultimately became Company Vice President in 1999. “My Dad had a great impact on me as a person, and I attribute most of my business tenacity from him. Although we often had a different approach to doing things because of our different backgrounds, he held an Accounting Degree and I have a degree in Psychology & Management and an M.S. in Industrial Organizational Pschology. I think it’s because of those differences that we made a great team together. We often bounced ideas off of each other, sought advice from one another both in business and personally, and those talks are very much missed. He was a very practical person, sharp business man, extremely honest and fair to his staff and suppliers, but he also had a very large heart and was a great friend to many. It is my hope that his legacy and dreams for LPD will continue to live on through me and all of us at LPD, never to be forgotten!” says, Sonia Vallis. |
